Hi All, Happy Thursday!
It's been a busy week! Last week, Julie spent 4 days in the hospital on IV antibiotics with doctors looking for infection. Her fever hit 103.5 so last week was a rough week for her. This week so far we had a Zoom meeting with a doctor from Virginia to prescribe us some new meds. Tuesday was a chest x-ray and more fluid drained, not too bad only 600 ml. But that totally wipes her out .... and we kind of got a kick in the gut this week because the pulmonologist said the tumor is growing. Julie's pain is increasing a bit, probably because the tumor is growing and also because she is just so exhausted. Yesterday we did a high dose IV vitamin C infusion, that helped her a little bit last night.
Today, we did a Zoom meeting with our Palliative Care nurse. We might actually be getting closer to using the Infusion Center at UW Hospital for blood transfusions. Julie is pretty tired today but our package with the new meds arrived and Julie already started on them. She is still losing weight, I am trying my best to get her to eat, but most times it's just a little bit.
I continue to do research on how to beat this illness and try to educate others on it too. The doctor from New Jersey has been studying cancer prevention for over 35 years and has written several books about her findings. If you're interested in any of the books or research I've been reading text or call me. The comments feature on this blog doesn't always work. I also have been talking with a doctor from Virginia to prescribe the meds on the recommendations from the doctor in New Jersey. (I know I talked about this earlier in the blog) Oh ... and we are now members of the First Nation Medical Board!
Thats all I have for now.
Have a great Labor Day weekend and we will do the best we can to keep fighting this illness.
God bless and love and prayers to all.
Joe and Julie
Thinking of both of you from here in Colorado. Hoping Julie feels better, eats more and regains her energy.
